It's hard to think of any reuniting band that has managed to recapture its initial vigor and vision better than Jason and the Scorchers did on 1995's A Blazing Grace. Time apart definitely rejuvenated the members of this pioneering cow-punk outfit, and the new Clear Impetuous Morning (Mammoth) proves Blazing was no fluke. Nobody sounds like these guys, whose Hank Williams-meets-the Sex-Pistols attack still features the fire-and-brimstone fervor of singer-songwriter Jason Ringenberg and the slash-and-burn guitar of Warner Hodges. On Wednesday, they'll make their first Philadelphia appearance in quite some time.
