You have to admit, when Jason and the Scorchers hit in the late ‘80s with their near-miss hit single, “Golden Ball and Chain”, there was nothing like it on the radio, but somehow it seemed to fit. Was it Country Rock, Country Punk, Punkabilly, American music or just Satan’s newest stranglehold on the youngins?
After surviving some personnel changes and a three-year hiatus, the band re-emerged in 1995 and are set to release next month their newest LP, Clear Impetuous Morning, and its first single “Victory Road”. If ever there was an “everyman’s anthem”, this is it. An A+ for attitude and execution.
