These country punkers once again prove themselves to be the only living incarnation of the Rolling Stones. While never packing the moonshine kick of their debut EP Fervor (think Beggars Banquet meets Flannery O’Connor), Morning has the haphazard brilliance of a mid-Stones age relic like Tattoo You. The band tears through 14 songs, pausing only long enough to pay respects to Gram Parsons on a swell cover of “Drugstore Truck Drivin’ Man”.
