Label debut from these high-octane southern rock survivors reclaims their glory days, with Jason Ringenberg’s vocals as wild and Warner Hodges’ guitar tone as blistering as ever. Highlights of a rowdy set include the pounding yet sweetly arching melody of “Cappucino Rosie”, the relentless punkoid intensity of “Uncertain Girl”, and the metalloid waltz of “I’m Sticking With You”.
Their folkier side surfaces in the reedy, harmonica-tinged “Jeremy’s Glory” and the austere tonalities of “Everything Has a Cost” (which features guest vocalist Emmylou Harris). Also includes a version of Roger McGuinn and Gram Parsons’ sarcastic ‘60s classic “Drugstore Truck Drivin’ Man”.
