New biography and quote sheet for Jason written by Lori Timm

Lori Timm of Illinois, a longtime member of the Reckless Country Soup and a
personal friend, has written an excellent new artist bio for Jason to
accompany his new album. Jason has also released a new list of complimentary
quotes from major publications.

Jason's CD release party June 29, 2002 in Nashville, some new lyrics for "Bible and a Gun"

Tower Records in Nashville will be the site of another Jason Ringenberg CD
release party on Saturday, June 29th, 2002. This Tower, in Nashville at 2400
West End Avenue (615-327-3722), has been the site of release parties for "A
Pocketful of Soul" in 2000, "Wildfires and Misfires" in 2002, and perhaps
others beyond my knowledge. Come early for the ice cream, which Jason
sometimes makes for these parties himself!

Jason re-recorded "Bible and a Gun" with Steve Earle and put it on "All Over
Creation." This is a song he originally wrote with Earle in 1989 for the
Scorchers album "Thunder and Fire." The version on "Creation" is an acoustic
duet with Earle, and is a complete revamping. It contains some chilling
Civil War-era reworked lyrics, Earle singing two verses and then the chorus
in a minor key, and some authentic banjo picking.

Jason:

There's a full moon out tonight
And it's a-shining down on me
And in that purest light
The slaves are still not free

So Missouri's bound in sorrow
And her woods are draped in pain
And when the sun comes up tomorrow
I'll be on the move again

(Chorus:)

And I hear her whisper soft and low
Through every mile I run
As I travel through this world of woe
With a bible and a gun
With a bible and a gun

Steve:

If a man was made to suffer
Then I'm a mighty man I know
And I cannot shake the anger
That keeps me on this road

Well they came with bugles sounding
And righteousness did creep
And they left me with this vengeance
To forever feed

(Chorus)

To turn the other cheek
It's the braver thing to do
I wish I had it in me
And they wish they had it too

For tomorrow when we meet
This story will end
And an ancient hollow grief
Will be our only friend

(Chorus)
