Scorchers
News - May 2001
Here's what's going on.
-The Jason and the Scorchers May 22, 1985 show in Cologne, Germany is
now available as "Rock On Germany." This recording originated
as a bootleg, and Jason thought it was time to give fans a taste of
what the Scorchers sounded like in the mid-eighties live.
Jason personally oversaw the master and is distributing it through his
Courageous Chicken record label. You can order a copy through going
to www.cdnow.com, or use the more direct link available in our "Links"

Here is a set list from an appreciative fan
who saw Jason's May 13 concert in Glasgow, Scotland.
Just back from seeing Jason's solo acoustic show at the Ramshorn Theatre
in Glasgow. WOW - one of the best live shows I've ever seen. Just Jason
(goatee, stetson, cowboy boots, ripped jeans) and his acoustic under
six lights on a tiny stage in the Theatre, which is located in an old
church in the centre of Glasgow. Here's the set list for you - an (R)
indicates the song was played after a request from the audience - it
was that kind of night!

-There is no word on whether there will be any Scorchers shows this
summer or fall. Perhaps when Jason gets back from Europe, he'll be in
contact with the other guys, and/or club and festival people who might
be eager to get the band back on the stage. We'll keep our fingers crossed
as the year progresses, and re-read those quotes Jason has said about
how the band will probably do something to commemorate the upcoming
20th anniversary year for the band. If anything is scheduled, we'll
put it up here asap.
-As you know, we're building the site here, and will be doing so all
year long. If you have anything you'd like us to post, such as a set
list, picture, piece of memorabilia, or something else, send it along
to us at webstaff@jasonandthescorchers.com.
If you can't scan it in, you can also send it to us. Email us and ask
for our P.O. Box address.
I can't guarantee that something you send will go up on the site, but
if it's something that's pertinent to the band, and we don't have it,
we'll make every effort to do so.
As the year progresses, the site will take shape, and we hope you all
enjoy the journey. We have every intention of making this a fun and
informative site for this very deserving band. And we couldn't do it
without the help of all the great fans of this band, of which club I
am a humble member.
